I A N
SEPTEMBER 2025
This was my fifth trip to Timor Leste and fourth working at Bahareduk. I have been amazed over the years how much things have changed.
To look around at night and see many of the houses with a light or two on. So many young children and babies, a good sign of growth. The sound of motor cycles going along the road as more and more families get mobile. Reports and signs of still more houses being
built. Plus hearing about a new road being constructed to neighbouring communities and beyond.
I had the opportunity to assist in making life in the village a little easier and more comfortable for the YWAM staff, who have made a big commitment to live there for a long period of time (as well as visiting teams). To hear comments that someone was able to have their first hot shower in 12 months (since leaving Brazil) was such a bonus.
I was also involved in helping lay out the ground work for the next lot of buildings at the base (office area and new staff house). I look forward to hearing of the progress of these buildings as well as those skilled and dedicated people working to translate the Bible into the local language of not only Bahareduk but other villages around Timor Leste.
I am very grateful to again to have been part of the East Timor Project.
